THE
CABBAGETOWN
HOTLINE
Sixty years ago, Tom Crewe Sr.  started the legend of The Cabbagetown Santa.  The story is amazing; he has left a legacy that will continue for many many years.

Carrying on his tradition, his family still throws the ANNUAL CREWE CHRISTMAS TOY DANCE each year.  Usually the last Friday in November.  The majority of guests are familiar Cabbagetown faces that grew up together and have a chance to meet up for a night, dance to the oldies, and reconnect!   Admission is an unwrapped toy.  The toys are then wrapped and given out at the annual kid's Christmas party held at St. Cyril's Church.

At this party, 500 children in the Regent Park area eat lunch, play games, get entertained by clowns, musicians, etc. and then visit Santa and take their Christmas gift and bag of candy and fruit home.  It's quite the day and for many families in the area, has been the highlight of the season for generations.
